About QEC Pine Hills
- Quality Enhancement Cell of Pine Hills Institute of Nursing & Allied Health Sciences was established in 2024 under the umbrella of Quality Assurance Agency of Khyber Medical University, Peshawar and Higher Education Commission.
- The basic aim of the Quality Enhancement Cell is to improve the standard of education bringing it in line with the standards set for Quality Education. The responsibility of QEC is to asses and evaluates the academic policies, Programs and give recommendations accordingly for any improvements if required.
- Quality Enhancement Cell of Pine Hills Institute of Nursing & Allied Health Sciences is engaged in accomplishments of targets set to create quality culture with the advance practices of quality enhancement.
Vision
To ensure high standards of education in the field of Nursing and Paramedics sciences, at undergraduate levels, through an effective, consistent and innovative setup of quality enhancement mechanism, at Pine Hills Institute of Nursing & Allied Health Sciences.

To enhance, promote and sustain the quality of educational programs to the highest standards through effective policies, based on informed decisions, continuous monitoring and controlling measures.

- Effective use of Quality Assurance processes for the assessment of the performance of the faculty, quality / relevance of the courses / programs offered.
- To set standards in terms of knowledge, skills and attributes a student develops on completing a specific program.
- Enhancing the standardization of examination system by introducing innovative, reliable and transparent mechanisms in theory as well as practical assessments, pivoted around Task Oriented Assessment of Clinical Skills (TOACS), Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE) through concerted efforts at the national Level.
Functions of QEC
- The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) is to be headed by a Director reporting directly to Managing Director.
- QEC is responsible for promoting the quality and standards of the award of degrees are enhanced and safeguarded.
- QEC is responsible for the review of quality standards and the quality of teaching and learning in each subject area.
- QEC is responsible to develop qualifications framework by setting out the attributes and abilities that can be expected from the holder of a qualification, i.e. Bachelors.
- QEC is responsible to develop program specifications. These are standard set of information clarifying what knowledge, understanding, skills and other attributes a student will have developed on successfully completing a specific program.
- QEC is responsible to develop quality assurance processes and methods of evaluation to affirm that the quality of provision and the standard of awards are being maintained and to foster curriculum, subject and staff development, together with research and other scholarly activities.
